Start and rating increase

Just curious as to when a tournament actually starts after it fills. The instructions are ASAP, but how long does it take for pairings to generate? Does this happen periodically throughout a day or does a tournament filling at 9pm EST not start until 3am EST or something.... also, if a player joins a <1800 tournament when they are rated 1750 and then gains a rating of 2000 before it starts will they still play?

I'm pretty sure the tourneys start very quickly after the start conditions are met. So, ASAP will start as soon as enough players sign up.

As to the rating question, that depends. In official chess.com tourneys, people that no longer match the requirements for the section they signed up for will be moved to the appropriate section. For a member-ran tourney, if the TD doesn't catch it before the tourney starts, I'm pretty sure the player stays in the tourney and gets paired. The TD may have the power to remove them from the tourney after it starts but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the response. Tournament eventually started, but the TD said he had to manually remove the two players outside the rating. I'm not sure if it always holds the start up or if that was something the TD indicated he wanted done.
