Revert Puzzle Difficulty Setting

I agree, the whole point of a rating system is to get puzzles tailored to your ability.
If people want to just do easy puzzles, add an unrated mode.

The main problem I have is that my puzzle rating is currently about 3100. My max was something like 3260. But now I'm being given puzzles with ratings like 1300 and yet the puzzles are much much tricker than that. So if I get one right, I only get 5 points. But if I get it wrong, I lose like 24. I set the difficulty to extra hard and I'll still get a puzzle rated 1700 and then the very next one is like 3200, then the third one goes back down to 1900. I tried voicxing this as a complaint or a bug feature but chess.com never responded.

The puzzle database has enormous problems that accumulated in the last 5 years since chess.com abandoned maintaining it (and promised that they will come up with something new, which never happened). The current change does nothing to address any of the issues, instead it creates even bigger chaos.

The code behind puzzles must have been broken somewhere, no way this is intended... Hopefully they fix it fast.

There is already an unrated mode where you can select the difficulty range. But I totally agree.
I have always preferred Chess.com to Lichess, but I strongly dislike the route Chess.com has taken with adding a difficulty slider to puzzles. It makes rating completely meaningless and I can no longer compare my puzzle rating to others to get a gauge on how good I am compared to them at spotting tactics.
I understand the need to innovate. It's chess after all, it's been the same for a thousand years, but I don't think this is the route to go.
In my opinion, the only thing that should impact how difficult the puzzles you get are is your rating. If you're 2,000 rating, you should be hunting for tactics that are from real games between 2,000 rated players and lower, with a healthy mix between the type of puzzle and complexity level.
Rating was really my only way to gauge my progress and now it's meaningless. I had been hard stuck and thought I was improving, only to find out you have changed the entire system.
Please at least give us the ability to disable the new system and revert back to what it was.
