can you elaborate as to how the schedule s work , ive never been to a tournament before

I am on the two day schedule but, I will be there Friday.
The schedules are as follows:
7 round Swiss, 40/2, SD/1 (3-day option, rds 1-2 G/75. 2-day option, rds 1-4 G/45.)Under 900 Section plays separate 2-day schedule only, G/45.
4-day schedule: Late entries end Fri 6 pm, rds. Fri 7 pm, Sat 12 & 7, Sun 12 & 7, Mon 10 & 4:30. 3-day schedule: Late entries end Sat 11 am, rds. Sat 12, 3:30 & 7, Sun 12 & 7, Mon 10 & 4:30. 2-day schedule (U1300 & up): Late entries end Sun 9 am; rds. Sun 10, 12:30, 2:30, 4:30 & 7, Mon 10 & 4:30. 2-day schedule (U900): Late entries end Sun 9 am, Rds. Sun 10, 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, Mon 10, 12:30, 2:30.
This means that unless you are in the U900 you can choose which # of days to play. I think so... Matt?
Pretty much. Here's how it goes...
4 day schedule starts Friday and they play one game. 3 day starts Saturday and play two games while 4 day plays one, then the two schedules merge. 2 day starts Sunday, plays four games while the merged plays one, and then all the schedules merge Sunday night for the last three rounds. 4 day is all 40/2 SD/1, can't remember the time controls for the other two schedules. So if you can handle the time crunch, go for a 2 day schedule. If you are like me and like long grueling affairs, I'd recommend the 4 day schedule.
