About Me:
Chess is my hobby. Once I was happy to find a website like chess.com and joined it immediately. It was just created then, and no online chess was available! At that time I couldn’t even imagine it would evolve into something like this - the best chess site on the Internet!
I learned to play chess with a computer program lacking real game experience VS human. I am a strong intermediate player, sometimes unstable though. More often middle game is the main cause of this instability. My strong points are opening (even if there are no opening books at hand, and of course I mean more or less popular opening lines) and endgame, and my weakness, as I have already mentioned, is middle game. Perhaps that's why the following style of play has been shaped: I usually trade away pieces and seek chances in the endgame. Nevertheless I am always happy to exploit any creative combination that will dawn upon me in the middle game. I also like to set traps for my opponents, though I very often fall for them myself.
So if you haven't crushed me in the middle game, be prepared for a tough ending...
I always play e4 as white. As black I usually respond e6 (French defense) or e5 (usually Petrov's defense (Russian game)) to white’s e4. I am currently trying out various continuations of Keres defense (1. d4 e6 2. c4 Bb4+) which I consider a solid response to d4 (for me at least).
