I'm something of a stray daughter to chess. I used to play all the time with my dad and he'd beat me 5 out of every 6 games. I didn't have any fun so I ended up quitting. Recently I started playing with other people and I learned that my dad was actually an above average player and taught me, though unwittingly, how to be an above-average player myself!
