Bu Xiangzhi has won the 3rd Danzhou GM Chess Tournament, repeating his success in the inagural event.

Bu finished with 6/9 points, taking first place on superior tie-break score from Ni Hua.

The 10-player round robin tournament took place in Danzhou, Hainan Province, China from 29 May - 7 June. The competition was an all-Chinese affair which illustrates the strength in depth in Chinese chess today, even with two major players absent - Wang Hao and Li Chao.

The time control was 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes to a finish with a 30 second increment from the start of the game.  Draw offers were not allowed before the 30th move.

The defending champion Yu Yangyi finished in shared third place, while women's world champion Hou Yifan had a disappointing result, coming last.
