Magnus Carlsen and Sergey Karjakin won their fifth round games at the Bazna Kings tournament in Medias, Romania.

Carlsen made short work of Nisipeanu in a QGA, taking advantage of Nisipeanu's uncoordinated pieces.  Ivanchuk allowed the tactical shot 16...Bxh3 after which his position fell apart against Karjakin.

Radjabov v Nakamura was a very exciting encounter which ended in a draw.  Another great round of chess!

The standings after round five:

1  Carlsen, Magnus  NOR 2815
2  Karjakin, Sergey  RUS 2776 3
3  Nakamura, Hikaru  USA 2774
4  Ivanchuk, Vassily  UKR 2776 2
5  Nisipeanu, Liviu-Dieter  ROU 2659 2
6  Radjabov, Teimour  AZE 2744 2

The first rest day is tomorrow (not today, as originally stated in my last report. The days have been changed!).  Round six is on Friday 17 June.

Games start at 15:30 local time (12:30 UTC) except the last round which is 2 hours earlier.

The time control is 2 hours for the first 40 moves, 60 minutes for the next 20 moves, then 15 minutes to finish with a 30 second increment after move 60.

The official site with live broadcasts of the games is here, and the full draw can be found here.
