First Single-Day Seminar
Chess.com University announces its first single-day seminar: "Basic Practical Rook Endgames."
Course information follows:
When: Sunday,December 12, 2010, from 9 am Pacific until 12:15 pm Pacific.
Instructor: GM Magesh Panchanathan (author of Thursday's Understanding Opening Ideas column)
Level: the course is for players with a rating in one of the following ranges: 1000-1500 USCF or 1200-1700 echess or 900-1400 live.
Pre-requisites: the instructor requires that each student watch the following videos from IM Rensch: Rook Endgames: Beginner to Master 1, 2, and 3 in the week directly preceding class. (these video lessons will be made available to anyone registering for the class, regardless of diamond membership status).
The course will include lecture elements, time to ask questions about the material from the three videos and from the lecture, and problems you will be asked to solve live. It will also have a 15 minute break half-way through.
Tuition: $50. Yearly diamond members get a 10% discount, as on all University courses. First time course-takers also get a 10% discount (can use both discounts).
