Aim: Material advantage
This, is not quite hard, but you'll need to rack your brains a little figuring out why it is the move which lets White turn the tables immediately.
Hard
This is one nice puzzle, it really challenges you to not be "materialistic" and should instead play with the spirit of chess and focus on the true goal, checkmate.
Very Hard
The final puzzle for this week is quite lenghty and is a cool 22 moves from checkmate! However, trust me, this puzzle is definitely worth your time. It is one of the greatest tests of strategies and pushes you to the limit to see how far into the future you can see. If you don't give up and keep searching for the right answer, this puzzle should be finished in at least 10 minutes (?!). My favourite longest puzzle!
Have fun!
Everyone!!
I'd like to hear your opinion on this:
I am thinking of having weekly chess positions from openings, middlegames and endgames. In these positions, you find what, in your opinion, is the best move and state why. I will provide what I think is the best move which I will play. This can stimulate our chess brain cells and help us analyse and understand positions better. This is also known as positional puzzles.
What do you think?
I'd like to hear your opinions. Also, from this week onwards, I will proceed to post the puzzles without any introduction unless necessary. In its place will be the link to the forum "weeklypuzzles", where you can find links to previous puzzles.
Now, it's time for your favourite collection of puzzles!
