This is the first of a series of 'alternative bracket' tournaments. The aim is to closely resemble the official tournaments, but with the bracket ranges shifted by 100 points.

This is to provide more challenging games to all people who otherwise would be at the border between two ranges. This might make for very easy and uninteresting games or unceremonious whippings -  as anyone who e.g. has played quite a few 1600 vs. 1401 games. These players might find more interesting games here. More details can be found in  this post.

Other twists on the official setup:
- only 100 people can participate, as these tournaments are decicedly unofficial.
- Maximum timeout percentage is 3%, the minimum number of completed games depends on the bracket and is higher to ensure people with more stable ratings participate.
- group size is 5 (instead of 6 as in later editions of official tournaments).
