This is the 23rd RAPID Chess.com Tournament! Only players who play their games QUICKLY (who have a low Avg. Time per Move) and who have completed 5 games already can register. Games have a 1 day time control and the games in the round start immediately! (That is 10 games starting right away and going fast!!)Think fast and good luck!
1st place has a closed account. I suspect that 2nd place will advance in their place.
how did 2 players qualified for round 3 in group 4 even they were not having same points
2 moves and you are in checkmate. What do you do? Do you ...
B) complete the game to the bitter end
C) go on vacation
@TransmaniaconMC Thanks! Not that much life left in this round. If one player has a win and a loss vs another, and yo have two ties vs that player, does that give you same number of tiebreaker points?
Your opponent is currently on vacation! They have 1½ month of vacation time left, but may be back sooner.
@Ipolitas your group is far from being a tie, there's still plenty of life in it. If it finishes with 2 or more players having equal points then the highest tiebreak scorer goes through. If points scored and tiebreak points are equal then both (or all) go through.
Looks like my group is heading to a tie. What are the tie breakers? what if players are still even?
That can be true also, agreed on that one.
I agree withletsseewhatyougot. Going from 1556 to 2006 in the span of 1 round has to raise some questions. If not questioned, it opens up the way for others to throw games until their rating drops enough to enter a tournament of their choice. Or create a new user name with a rating 200-500 lower just to enter tournaments. *Oohh, time to pick a new username, there has to be a 800-1000 tournament somewhere*
I tend to disagree, you never know your true ability till contested by the strogest. In this scenario, you have to beat your potential in your current chalenge against the strongest... Every one can loose, its a mined game as testing your current abilities. Good luck and never shoot a player for being good! We always do that when someone mess up and we are the biggest fan. This one is opposite, encouragement to the best or perceived to be, and we have a chalange to over come. Not only yourself as most look at the rating then lacking the phycololgy in playing good. There are always underdogs on both sides of the equations. Its up to you not up to him.
Have to agree with the last post. The player in question had an entry rating of 1596, which is fair enough and can't be questioned. You don't get an NM rating in the bottom of a cornflakes box,so to me it's a moral question to enter a tournament knowing your ability far exceeds the ability of the rest of the field.
So... how exactly am I playing against a NM, rated 2006 player in this tournament? I am raising the BS flag
And here comes the 2nd round. Good luck to everyone, have fun and don't be a truebeef :)
i think trubeef is playing a game with other players now one day he is going on vacation and the other day he start playing.
(same player in all 3) is currently on vacation! They have 2 days 18 hours of vacation time left, but may be back sooner.
Get ready! Round 2 may start by weeks end.
Again he has gone on vacation
that player is not on vacation now
That is when the last idiot will run out of vacation time.
