At least, we started the 2nd round! We needed to wait only two games between the same oponents, one of them was clearly lost in both and he played until the mate - fortunatelly, he didn't use 3 days for every move...

So the Tie Break comes down to 2.5/2 vs. 3.5/2  So with this tie break it is better to lose or tie to the player that does not have many points.  Which tie break is this?   Since there are a lot of different tie breaks.

1+1+2.5+2.5/2+3.5+3.5+6.5

1+1+2.5+2.5+3.5+3.5/2+6.5

@pichon27 : The formula for tie-breaks points is: for every win, a player has all points of his oponent, and for every draw, a half of it (and nothing for loss). In the group 36, No 1 have one draw against weaker oponent  - it means, more tie-breaks points!

Also I note that player 1 had his draw with the white pieces which I would have thought in a tright group tie break was inferior to player 2 having a draw with the black pieces.

Good point---it does look incorrect.  The third place persons did have a better record and the 4th place person had a better rating, second rated player going in.

Below is a different tournament but I lost on tie breakers we all have seven points

1. mmikeman41 (1728) Advancing to Next RoundX 0½  1½  1 1 1729.5
2. orejano (1609) 0X 0 0 1 1728
3. MrJ (1774) ½ 0X 1 ½ 1726.5
4. lordbobbetti (1694) ½ 0 0X ½ 1417.5
5. kaiser_souza (1636) 1 0½  0½  0X 1414.5
6. xropi (1664) 0 0 0 1 0X14

Could someone explain the tie break in group 36 please - it seems counter-intuitive. The players who finished 1 and 2 shared their two games, with player 1 also having a draw with player 4 and player 2 also having a draw with player 3.  Natural justice would suggest that a draw with player 3 should count more than a draw with player 4 in a tie break, but that does not seem to be the case.  What am I missing?

pichon - just a bystander but interested for future reference.

@123karpov : I am confident - what's wrong with it? And I can win even if an oponent make no blunders! Cool However, I understand they are limits in my real power - I said "more then 2000", not 2300 or so - at least, not so fast! Tongue out You can read in forum: It isn't exciting to win agaist weeker players

@madajtemimir: Oh well, I am still not >2000, but I am prety near - 1980. Good job for us tudjmanians! Kiss
