oops..isnt this goin too far gys/gls!  Why wasn't her opponent able to defeat her easily which would have enabled a sooner next round? I guess that was a good match between them both and in that case why shouldn't they be allowed to enjoy thier games despite of the outcome? Why would anyone else want to force a result on them just because they had finished their plates long back?

Nor is cash affordable to many even if it is a penny, leave alone 15$. For some time is precious, for some cash is, for some manners are, for some character is ! It is evident on many of the posts here that what is more precious for each.

The next round has started and i got some strong players in my group. i hope to see some of u there in the next round. Common everybody let things be on the board than in words !! good luck everyone!

    Miss Lullaby,

Thank you for resigning your last game and deciding not to play in any more tournaments. Much appreciated.

I wasn't in any way advocating war and it is rather bizarre that you should bring it up.

I cannot possibly afford to go to your country, again a complete ignorance of the world being displayed, on your part. Books and TV show that it is a lot wealthier than most. Come and see Fes Medina for a contrast.

I cannot afford a computer, let alone an internet connection, I use a friends, or sometimes the Cyber, which at about a third of a Euro an hour is just within my price range, though sometimes I have timed out when I had no money.

    This is the real world.

Wake up!!! And no, I don't believe in God, just for the record.

    Let's get some things straight.

    misslulluby,

First off, no-one said all Swiss people were rich. It was mentioned that Switzerland was a relatively wealthy country - that cannot be denied.

Secondly, you were quite within your rights to play on, even in such clearly losing positions. And don't let this stop you from entering other tournaments; although perhaps a slower days/move control would suit you.

Thirdly, it was mentioned that the 2nd round could have been started 2 months ago as all the group winners had by then been decided. My opinion is that the TD should indeed have that option if, and only if, all those progressing have been determined. Now Patzer24 runs all the official chess.com tournaments and can't be expected to keep track of them all, but if one of the participants were to notice and then notify the TD that the tournament could be progressed, that wouldn't even require any complex programming calculating the possible scores in groups etc. All the remaining group games could, of course be allowed to continue to the end.

    Regards,

    Dan

just one word, the last, thanks for your support Akcy and Kindrob, for others good news I will resign my last game just for your pleasure, it's a shame to read some post here, I thought chess was a peace game but I forgot some nations just live for war, and it seem it's the same for some chess players, it's a pity !!!

and for people who think that all switz people are rich come here to see or maybe read books or watch tv and stop to say stupid thing !!! I don't think that 15USD to pay for one year is expensive for playing chess as you want !!! if you can pay an internet connection you can do this too !!!

well, so have fun and don't worry I will never register in a another tournament.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL ( if you believe in GOD of course !!! )

The thing that makes me unhappy is that the section winners are already determined and have been determined for, I believe, two months. The next round could start with the winners and the remaining games could be allowed to finish as if nothing had happened. The only thing that was required to speed this tournament up by two months (and possibly more) was a programming change. I understand, though, that the chess.com staff have a lot on their hands, and that I'm a free member who really shouldn't complain much (although I'm considering changing that when I start my summer job).

Misslulluby, personally I don't mind if I have to wait another year for the next round, but I think the points being made are valid in part.

Yes, rules are there and you are within them, but you also mention gentlemen, and other correspondents have also mentioned it is bad manners to rush.

True, but I would venture it is also bad manners not to resign three games you have no realistic chance of winning, when you are clearly upsetting some people and are soley responsible for holding up the progression of a major tournament.

As for suggesting those players who cannot play in other tourneys should pay like you have, this is insensitive and shows a lack of understanding of the world in general. Not all people have the fortune to live in such a wealthy country as you and many, including myself, simply could not possibly afford such an outlay. It may seem cheap to you, but for many it is quite impossible.

Anyway, enjoy your games, 'cos nobody else is.

i cant understand the problem here, the games are being played, the next round should be starting anytime soon. These tournaments involves a lot of players and thus lots of games, one may not be as fast and quick a player as others, give time..who knows somtime it could be u who will be taking a lot of time, and we will be patient then too !

Even if it is bad manners to rush you have to admit that all three of the remaining games are decided unless someone makes a pretty big blunder.

    Akcy

Trying to rush others is bad manners.

This is a 3 days time control tourney with vacation allowed, everyone accepted those terms when registered, so there.

    Take your time Anne.

I received a message from one of you ! I see some players wasn't happy, it's ok, they are rules in this site and it's established from american admins, so if you're not happy tell them and maybe they change the rules, if you can't play in another tournament I'm sorry, do the same than me : PAY and you will can play in all tournaments that you want. to finish, I never asked a player for these reason, I thought this game was for gentlemen, maybe it was a mistake ! enjoy your day, your games and your life. GOD BLESS all of you, anne.

There are only two groups left without clinched winners. One group has a clinched winner but six games to go, two of which are only at move 21.

I reckon there should be different types of tournaments with different Time/Move like there is one tourney thats called " Quick Knockouts" but the time per move is 3 hours per move !!!! that is mega fast i mean im constantly in chess.com and only got 4 hrs per move.....they should make tourneys with 4hrs  Time/Move , 5hrs Time/Move and so on and so on !! so this way everyone would be happy and not have to wait longer than they would really have to

Yeah, it gets a little crazy. At the time of writing, the game misslulluby vs morrg is only in its twelfth move.

I know, I'm still waiting for the 11 games left in the Round 1 of the 7th Tourney. Limited vacation time is an idea, however it can't be too limited otherwise some people may be disadvantaged.

    davidtrott63

why bother allowing vacation time? there is always someone who drags out thier games and then goes on vacation! this stalls the whole flow and people get fed up waiting!! whats wrong with limited vacation time to keep the thing rolling?
