Average Rating: 1546 Biggest Upset: 1405 defeats 1804

Minimum games played by everyone: 25, so the ratings of players should be pretty accurate, so there is a good chance of a fair and fun tournament!

Groups of 6, with 3 progressing, should mean a small number of simultaneous games, but a fierce battle to make it through.  It'll start with 8 groups of 6, then it'll go to 4 groups of 6, it'll come to 2 groups of 6, and finally 1 group of 6, so each round will be more and more closely fought.

No vacation: it'll stop one or two people holding everybody up.  If you're on holiday, find an internet café every 3 days.

I hope you have a good tournament!

For info, when I organise a tournament now, I require a minimum number of 30 games played to try and eliminate people like me whose grade has not yet settled down or reached its maximum. My aim as tournament organiser is to try and have it won by someone who is pretty much in the right range (even if having played a good tournament might take them slightly over).

I have resigned all my round 2 games since I was 1889 grade and this tournament was supposed to be for under 1800s (it is now 1750 because I resigned 12 games!), and I don't want to be in the medalists as an over 1800 and tournament organiser. Apologies to those in my group, especially where the game was alrady started. It should give you a fairer chance. Except birdytrap who beat me in another tournament anyway!
