So..  several months later..  I would hope that some of the more 'rapid' players have learned that slow is the name of the game in these tournaments.  This is correspondence chess.  It takes a long time, and that's exactly what I (and you all too, aware or unaware) have signed up and paid chess.com for.

lol ... You are being so ridiculous right now.

1.) my "discussion" comment came after your first condescending response.

2.) I'm typing, which is a bit different than yelling.

3.) Since when could "no need to argue about it" ever be considered yelling (let's assume here that this took place in a real conversation) or any other form or confrontational or argumentative language?

As discussed in number 1 (see above), I didn't use the word discussion until after you had chimed in. Furthermore, I certainly expected a response as this is a comments page viewable by all, but I didn't expect someone such as yourself to be an a-hole about it. I proceeded to try and diplomatically smoothe over any unjustifiably ruffled feathers by explaining that it was not a big deal, I wasn't upset about it, and I was just making a statement that my group is a little behind the rest.  In response, you became an even bigger douche and made a comment of "which is it? no need to argue? or just a little discussion," which shows that you erroneously did believe that they were synonymous. Otherwise, you would not have have put them on opposite ends of the spectrum in your sarcastic and douche-like response. You see that particular sentence structure of "which is it? x? or y?" is used to indicate that x and y are indeed opposites and the recipient of the communication has taken an ambiguous stance that could be for either x or y (usually the purpose of this sentence, as is the case here, is to try and embarass and harass the recipient for being ambiguous). in using such a structure, you indicated that "no need to argue about it" and "just a little discussion" were the opposite of eachother. Essentially, you were trying to equate my two different statements to "stop arguing" and "discuss." In writing that question, you were saying you can't do both, which would only be true if argument and discussion are synonymous, except they're not.

Now that your douchebaggery has been thoroughly trounced, back to chess.

No.  They certainly aren't synonymous.  That's why I'm wondering why you're yelling at me about my side of the discussion.

In case you didn't know:  "discussion" and "monologue" aren't synonymous either.  If you didn't expect a response, you shouldn't have used the word 'discussion'.

in case you didn't know: "discussion" and "argument" are not synonymous. Who pissed in your cornflakes anyways?

So which is it?  No need to argue about it?  Or just a little discussion?

There's really no need to argue about it. Thanks for a great tourney, Gump. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Quote: I mean no offense but we all should think of the others in group by not taking 1move/3days... It's a tournament and one shouldn't let others wait that long to move on.

Maybe you should think of the others in the group that joined up because they actually want 1move/3days.  That's why the limit was set that way.  You're correct that "It's a tournament...":  A tournament that gives us 3 days to move.
