UPDATE - Tuesday Feb 26, 7am EST

I have changed the group size to make the competition a little more dynamic (16 then 8 then 4, instead of 15 then 6 then 4) .

Also this gives us room for one extra player, not a bad thing since there has been quite some demand to play in this tournament.

Welcome to everyone who signed up so far. We are 3 players short of capacity. Those who have received invitations are encouraged to exercise them, as there are more players invited than seats at the table!

I will be starting this tournament in 24 hours or thereabouts (i.e. first thing Wednesday Feb 27, USA Eastern time).

TOURNAMENT CREATION - Sunday Feb 24

I am excited to invite my friends to join me in this invitation-only tournament. You have been selected either because you are real-life friends of mine, or because you and I have met across the board here on chess.com.

Either way I hope you will sign up and play - even if you have not played much before, it is a good way to meet some more experienced players.

I am still exploring the tournament mechanism here on chess.com, so please bear with me as far as organization goes!

As soon as we have 15 players signed up I will start the tournament.
