Hi all. I regret that I am unable to continue tournament play at this time. Some of you are aware that I am caring for my wife who is chronically ill. This is taking more of my time and so I am confining my play to 'friendlies'. Thank you all for the games we have a played together. Good luck in the tournament! Smile

That's true, and looking at the overall completion rate to date one sees the impact of that.  But the extra time does help those of us who have a steeper learning curve.  Just to let everybody in the tournament know:  I'm probably not going to play 6.Bg5 again.  Cool

Yes, the quality of the games is improved, but it doubles the length of time the tournament will run.

Thanks, Zug.  Erik did tell me that getting 1/2 the games was an option, but I didn't understand the reasoning behind it till now.

It also helps to halve the number of games going--the chess is improved.

No, ThreeQueens, the number of games is correct.  After your first game ends with a given opponent, the next game immediately begins with colors reversed.  I believe this works this way to eliminate the possibility of mirrored games against your opponent.

Is everybody else only getting half their games?  I've notified Erik.
