Dzindzi goes the extra mile to teach some prinicples. A real game position followed by an artificial position to reinforce the learning. Great video !

Roman! I love your endgame videos and your teaching style. Keep 'em coming!

From a theory point of view, great...
but from a theory of education point of view - terrible....
presenter maybe a professional player, but the whole system of educations leaves one confused.
His thoughts need to be written down, so as to be roud out in a structured fashion, perhaps with force lines shown, or at least highlighted squared.
There are great masters of any subject, but that doesn't nescessary mean they are great teachers.

I am beginning to see the value of doubled pawns, both in my own experience and in your video. In general, how much does the pass pawn give an advantage when it is on the outside file. Should you consciously play for that position?
cryptic_cave
Good stuff, that's super. In order to strengthen as a player I very much need to enhance my pawn placements. Better pawn work would suit me. This is a very fine video lesson.

Very good video! I'd love to see more endgame strategy videos like this.
by GM Roman Dzindzichashvili
Ever wonder how GM Roman became the positional genius he is today? Check out the brilliant play by HIS coach, from very early on in his career... Here we see two great examples of technique in converting small, but clear positional advantages. The pristine winning plan(s) executed in this video, and the use of "Principal of Two Weaknesses" is something for many chess players (Grandmasters included) to aspire towards. Enjoy!

GM Roman Dzindzichashvili
JRLOK
GM Dzindzichashvili was once one of the top players in the world. Born in Georgia, his chess first developed in the USSR. While still an International Master, he defeated opponents like Botvinnik and Bronstein before emigrating, first to Israel where he became a Grandmaster, and then to the United States. His accomplishments in the U.S. include two U.S. Championship first places, and one World Open. He has not played actively in tournaments recently, but has become even more famous perhaps in the U.S. for quality instructional materials, in particular chess videos!
