A Tournament At Fix Day / Time Is On The Card!
Greetings everyone!
The very first "Saturday Checkmate 45/45" (July 12 - August 9) is about to begin. It's going to a 5 Round SWISS tourney at Time Control 45m + 45s. All the rounds are to be played at fix day and time. Thus, every Saturday from July 12 to August 9 2025 at ±15:00 UTC, the players registered in the Membership of the Tournament Club will be paired. See the instructions below.
- You enter the Tournament Club each Saturday between 14:40 UTC and 14:55 UTC precisely to be paired.
- Anyone not in the Membership of the Tournament Club at 14:55 UTC shall not be paired.
- The link that leads to the Tournament Club will be posted below each Saturday at 14:40 UTC precisely.
- The Pairings will be posted in the ONE and ONLY Forum in the Tournament Club.
- You will challenge your opponent in accordance with Time Control and Color Assignment, or...
- ...you will accept their challenge.
- I will be the JOKER in case we have an odd number of participants.
- You may start at any round.
- After all the games of R1 are finished, I will post the Standings in a 2nd Forum, in the Tournament Club.
- You then will have to leave* the Tournament Club 24 hours or less after R1 is over. Thus, you will need to download the Standings and / or the Pairings if you wish to look at them later.
- If anyone remains in the Tournament Club, I will kick them out.*
- The same process will be used for the subsequent rounds.
- The name of the Tournament Club is "Saturday Checkmate - From July 12 To August 9"
*Why? Because we don't want to pair any ghost. Hence, if you want to play all 5 rounds, you will need to enter the Tournament Club 5 times. It takes what it takes!
