A Vote Chess battle is on the horizon!
Welcome to all newcomers! To you especially, but we need our veteran members...
Because we will all be working together on the same game!! This is kibitzing, properly!
Let's Rumble!
"Vote Chess" is a great vehicle for solid chess improvement. Here is why:
1) You analyze the position and write down what you see and what you would do. It is the complete art of chess board/position analysis.
2) You get to see what higher rated and other top players say about the same position. You can catch your mistakes, see what you miss or better yet...pat yourself on the back for great vision! You will undoubtedly learn new terminology and principles along with honing opening variations.
3) You do not play alone. A small group of you will discuss and come to a consensus in the first 48 hours of play. All voting begins at the twenty-fourth hour of our thinking time. Drive-by voting is unsportsmanlike (if that is a real word?).
There are many more benefits and yet, it does take time to play. We must use all three days of thinking time and then await the next three days of there thinking time. Please practice patience and positive communications so we can have a successful game.
One last thing, no one is in charge of this game. Not me, not you. We will serve together to achieve the best play possible. Sure, I will keep an eye on our time frames and fair play, but we all decide what to play, when to ask for a draw or even when we must resign. So my role is more of a Tournament Director. And, I am surely not the going to be one of the top players, but I will do my homework since I have not play 1.e4 in a decade.
In the next few days, you should go to the forum and read/acknowledge about vote chess.

Get ready for 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 and it will be our move first to decide the opening. A dynamic Scotch game? A popular Ruy Lopez? you will decide!
