Introduction, body, conclusion...opening, middlegame, endgame. The same concept, just different names. If you want to be the best, you have to master all three.
Are you a prior medalist who will add to your collection, or are you a new force to be reckoned with who's going to snatch gold, silver, and bronze across multiple categories?
Okay, this is the October message you've been waiting for. Now show us what you've got.

THE CATEGORIES
Eleven categories with gold, silver, and bronze medals waiting in each.
Best Blog - This award will be given to the blog that has excelled to a degree in all categories. If you win this category three times in a row, you will be recommended for Top Blogger. We will coordinate that process with any individual who achieves this.
Best Thumbnail - This is self-explanatory. We might add a category for AI thumbnails, but that is an item for further, future discussions. AI thumbnails can be used but will not receive awards (if we can avoid it...AI is getting better all the time.)
Most Improved Blogger - This goes to the blogger who has most improved over the past month(s) and has contributed most to the blogging community. This will not necessarily be awarded in every competition.
Best Blog Editing - The best editor will be the one who makes his/her/their/our/pronoun of your choice blog the most pretty, no typos, no word walls etc.
Best Game Analysis - At one time a neglected aspect of blogging, there are now numerous strong posts that include stellar, human analysis, that provide insight, occasional humor, and a very chess-ic experience mid-read.
Best Humor/Satire - If you can craft a humorous/sardonic/satirical blog, go for it. This has become a tough category, you'll need to bring your best to medal.
Best Blog Topic - Goes to most interesting blog topic. D’oh.
Best Blog Title - Does it hook the reader? Does it align with the thumbnail and the topic? Can you compete with September's Best Title of TBA's First Year? (Well, you don't have to compete with it, but can you match or one-up it and take the title this month. And yes, TBA is now a year old, as of 1 October.)
Best Original Writing - A smooth and gripping style of writing is important. This is one of the most important categories you should look to excel in.
Most Engaging Blog - This award goes to the blog that provides the most engaging work that will actually make me want to read the entirety of your post and perhaps go back again...and again.
Best Research - This category will reward the blogger whose writing convinces the judges they not only conducted some research but that they were able to fit all the pieces together in a coherent and cogent fashion.
