Kia ora, dear club members!

On 2 October, our esteemed The Blogger Awards 2.0 had its first anniversary. To celebrate this special occasion, the admins have decided to honour some of the best blogs and bloggers that emerged during this remarkable year.

There are a lot of awards to be given out today, so I won't keep you waiting too long. Without further ado, let's introduce you to the winners!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

SHOULD HAVE NAMED THE CATEGORY AWARD

Some blogs are so good in one of the categories that it feels almost unfair to let them compete against the poor other candidates that will have no chance, the famous hors concours. Thinking on that, we are pleased to announce that this effort will be recognized today.

Please welcome the winner:

CLICK HERE

@WinT0L0ss

for the brilliant title of his blog 'War And Piece' that made us almost consider taking it out from the competition. Proof that the simplest ideas are what sometimes stand out the most!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

TLDR AWARD

Who hasn't ever looked at a blog and thought, 'Seriously? Do I have to read all that?' As a spectator, you can simply ignore it, but as a judge, you know the desperation of being unable to finish a blog in under an hour.

I'm glad the pilot agreed to wait until I had finished reading it before landing. I hope the passengers did not get too angry with me.

Congratulations to the winner:

@nova-stone

for her brilliant A bish of a knightmare, that even made the writers of the Bible jealous! Congratulations! I hope this is enough recognition for the 50 hours it probably took you to write it!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

SILVER PLATTER AWARD

Imagine how it feels to try and try and try again to get close to the long-awaited gold medal, but not succeed. It's painful, isn't it? Luckily, however, here we recognize not only gold medalists, but also those who are happy with silver and bronze.

Stand up for the winners:

CLICK HERE

@AaravRoy_25 and @Anna_chess11

for winning two silver and three bronze medals so far, but still no gold! Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get one next year. And if not, you can always at least win this award again!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

GOLD DIGGER AWARD

Unlike those who are satisfied with silver and bronze, some bloggers love and covet only gold. Their motto is “Either I am the best, or I am nobody.”

And the winner is:

CLICK HERE

@MaybeEvery

for having 3 of his 4 medals (75%) made of the noblest of metals! Honourable mention to all bloggers who have only one gold medal and nothing else: @ColeZwynenburg; @NotNerdyN3rd; @SC0RP10NHUNTER; @StageKing; @Tejaskesavamurthy; and @VishTheFish771.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

KICKING THE DOOR DOWN AWARD

Some people come to the club already kicking the door down and leaving the best possible first impression! Let's award those who have arrived causing an earthquake in the competition.

Congratulations to:

CLICK HERE

@PokeGirl93

who got a silver medal in the Best Blog category with her very first blog post ever. What a way to introduce yourself to the blogging community!

and

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@nova-stone

for winning the Best Blog gold medal in her first month entering the contest! Pretty good result for someone who was for so long reluctant to participate!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

HALLEY'S COMET AWARD

Appearing only every 72–80 years, the passage of Halley's Comet is for most people an event that they will only have the opportunity to see once in their lifetime. Similarly, some bloggers appear, amaze everyone, and then leave, only to return after a long time.

Look up at the sky and appreciate the winner:

CLICK HERE

@ColeZwynenburg

for showing up in the August contest, winning the gold medal in the Best Topic category, and then totally disappearing again! I hope you will be back sooner than Halley's Comet, because I doubt this club will still exist in 75 years

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

NEIL ARMSTRONG AWARD

The most famous analogy ever is perhaps Neil Armstrong's iconic 1969 quote when he stepped on the moon:

That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.

Nothing could be fairer than rewarding analogies, one of my favorite types of blogs. But who will win this one?

Congratulations to the most narcissistic winner in history:

CLICK HERE

@VOB96

for winning the very first gold medal of this club with an analogy blog comparing chess players to animated film characters. PS: The other judges were who came up with the idea of this prize. Don't blame me!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

BUZZ ALDRIN AWARD

For those who don't know, Buzz Aldrin was the second person to set foot on the Moon. This award, therefore, pays tribute to bloggers who love coming second!

Ladies and gentlemen, A round of applause for our winner:

CLICK HERE

@ChocoCaramelPawn

for winning the silver medal in the Best Thumbnail category for three consecutive months! (April, May, and June). Congratulations! Your incredible ability to always have someone above you has finally paid off!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

LITTLE HELP AWARD

Imagine submitting many amazing blogs for months, and always seeing the gold medal slip away from your hands. But, somehow, fate smiles on you, and the judges randomly create a category for which you can finally win. A little help is always welcome, isn't it?

Let's applaud our winner:

CLICK HERE

@emateu26

for finally winning his first gold medal in the Best Research category right after it was introduced! If you go too long without winning again, just let me know, and we'll create another category for you!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

MIKE WAZOWSKI AWARD

If you are not sure who Mike Wazowski is, check out the video above. This award is a tribute to the blogger who was happiest to see his name mentioned among the monthly prize medalists.

Please congratulate the winner for being positive and celebrating the little things:

CLICK HERE

@JETINATE

for his wild celebration after winning the Most Improved Blogger award in August. That's what we want to see! And we hope you will keep improving and celebrating all your achievements!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

BEST AI-GENERATED TEXT AWARD

Oh, this one comes as a big surprise, doesn't it? Us, the AI haters, awarding texts that are AI-generated? That's right! After all, there is also a lot of serious effort behind it that we could not fail to recognize.

Please make some noise for the most beloved slave of lazy bloggers:

CLICK HERE

ChatGPT

for his many appearances in so many different blogs about many different topics. Despite his boring tone and ridiculous choice of words, we can't deny that he has a unique style!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

MOVIE DIRECTOR AWARD

Some bloggers are so creative and skilled at storytelling that their blogs resemble movies or books, leading you into amazing stories full of possibilities, plot twists, and surprises. The famous Choose Your Own Adventure posts are revolutionary, and I hope many will follow this tendency.

Congratulations to the Spanish filmmakers who make Oriol Paulo envious:

CLICK HERE

@JugadaBrillante and @Chesser1492

for their many CHYOA blogs that conquered the readers' hearts. You guys a-mazed us with your creativity. Just don't forget to thank the first blogger to try this kind of thing.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

FALSE START AWARD

We could not fail to recognize the bloggers who make @VOB96 happy by submitting early and sparing me the heart attack that usually starts three days before any deadline. This guy is ahead of his time, submitting his blog before the submission forum is even open.

Please congratulate the ultimate winner:

CLICK HERE

@DocSimooo

for always being ready with his next post and shocking us all with his quickness. Rumours say that his blog for October 2026 is already done!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

SUPREME COURT AWARD

As we all know, judging blogs is not an easy task at all. Be it in BC or TBA, the judges suffer from serious headaches trying to decide on winners for each match or category. The people who do it on a monthly basis also deserve some recognition.

Congratulations to the most frequent blogging judge:

CLICK HERE

@KevinChessSmith

for being the judge who judged in most editions of TBA so far (9/11). Thank you for your efforts, and sorry for allowing you to choose only 3 when more than 10 deserve medals.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

"YOU'D RECEIVE AN AWARD, BUT WE CUT IT OUT" AWARD

Of course, during the process of deciding which awards to hand out, many ideas popped into our minds. Unfortunately, not all of them were approved, or this announcement itself would be the winner of the TDLR award. However, we do want to congratulate all bloggers who could have won them if they existed!

Please give a round of applause to our almost-winners who, in the end, became winners anyway:

CLICK HERE

@Alina_Bakhtina_24

who would have won the Intruder Award for being the only blogger to win the Best Blog only once. But her family already had one award, so it was enough.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@JustGettingThisOffMyChess

who would be awarded the Blogger of the Year Award for leading the medal table. But because he suggested it, it made him ineligible, so he went off and cried in his pile of medals.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@RookMindset, @AstroTheoretical_Physics, and @nbrasington

whose thumbnails would be awarded some medals before we decided that this was too serious a category to include here.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@NMChessToImpress

who almost won the Teacher Award for being the blogger who gave us the best chess lessons, before we realized that no one actually cares about learning chess here.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@outwittedyou

who surely deserved the Tilting Award for threatening to leave the club and chess after losing some games. To our delight, you stayed, so the award was cancelled.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@SPK1729

who would have won the Neon Spetacle Award for his great use of HTML elements, but unfortunately, the award succumbed/perished under the weight of too many collapsibles.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@squirtle

who was the favorite to win the Best Pokémon Username Award until I realized this has nothing to do with blogging. But his blogs are still great!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@IceConeDragon and @Jehtt

whose random blog topics almost earned them the Random Topic Award. Unfortunately, we decided that this award would be too random to be given.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@Charlie_Harold, @Deepsealore, and @PierreLuc

who we struggled to find a category where they could win, but unfortunately, could not find any. Sorry. Please accept the The Judges Tried Award as a consolation prize.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

That's all for today, dear club members! We hope you enjoyed the one-year celebration. If you didn't win any award this time, don't worry! Everything here was just for fun, and we're happy with everyone's participation each month

We tried to award as many people as we could, but I do understand that, unfortunately, some important users were left out. I apologize if your name was not above there. To people like @2000Knights, @ALondoninVienna, @alphaous, @Anonymousplayer_796, @Blueberry-kit, @BugMeLater, @ChessCoach4Beginners, @DavidGaming08, @Duckfest, @GM-Dimitrios-M, @IFQA, @JDChess121, @LeafySnack, @LonelyMadMonkey, @NoahdeAlwis, @Mystery_Chessser, @ParthivPotter, @RandomUserForChessAcc, @read-23, @Renate-Irene, @SavageOppress, @ThePawnSlayer, @WillowCat423, and whoever else I may also have forgotten in this list, we do appreciate your engagement in the community!

Keep showing up, keep writing, and keep having fun with blogging. I hope to see you earn many medals in the year to come!
