Another New League, Another New Year! (Club Newsletter: Jan' 26)

Hello everyone! We just wanted to start the new year early by posting our club newsletter for 2026! This month, we wanted to give our amateur/club-level players a chance earn or improve their CCC Club Rating. To do that, we decided to host a club-rated only league, for free!

Upcoming Club Events:

- (Fridays @ 7 pm) Weekly Casual Meetup – Bring a board or find an open seat. Perfect for beginners and club players to play and practice!

*Note: No meetup on 1/2/26

- (1/9/26 to 1/23/26) CCC Community League! – City Creek Chess is hosting a free, weekly Community Chess League!

This league will have no prize, but give beginners, amateurs, and club regulars a chance to challenge themselves with one competitive game a week for three weeks! Games will also be club-rated to track your overall club improvement!

Utah Chess Association & Community:

- (Saturdays @ 1:30 pm) SLCC Afternoon Chess – Compete against local chess players in a weekly USCF Quick-rated event, or USCF Blitz-rated event at the end of the month. See UCA Upcoming Events for latest information as venue can change.

- (1/31/2026) Utah State Elementary Chess Championship! – This tournament is only open to kids in grades K-6. If your child meets this requirement, they are eligible to compete in this state tournament!
