ARC 5.0 Update + CMT Update #3 + World League Return??

First and foremost, this is my 30,000 comment on chess.com so...

nullHey everyone! SA Atomic_Rift here with his not-so-often-but-still-overly-long newsletter! I see a lot of you talking about ARC 5.0. "Where is it?" or "Is it still happening?" The ARC phases are member milestones. The features come 1 at a time, not 1 big go, sorry. I'm positive everyone's noticed the bright, warm, futurist, city theme we've got going for 500-600 members (I love it), but I know what everyone is waiting for is the ARC YouTube channel. Please do not hold your breath because that is probably going to be one of the last features to hit ARC 5.0, it's a big project and didn't quite know what I was getting myself into. Nonetheless, it's still happening of course. Rather than end you on that depressing note, I got it out the way so I can tell you what I have been working on!

For those who don't know, I'm currently stuck for a whole week in a hotel room in the 4th official most boring state in America...

null

Of course, it's not so bad. I mean, I love hotel rooms! It gives me plenty of time to work on what I should of already done a long time ago. So after 5 hours of sleep last night, I present to you a full update of the Club Match Tourney!

cobrahenz
CMT Score - 63

Mrmath
CMT Score - 58.5

TotemMeister
CMT Score - 37.5

nelosantana
CMT Score - 32

matewisetheoryfool
CMT Score - 29

What an interesting turn of events!! #1 ARC contributor of all time, checkmategnome, has been currently knocked out by matewisetheoryfool? nelosantana exactly doubles in score. TotemMeister holds a steady 3rd but not by much and Mrmath is knocked off his throne! I am extremely impressed by these results! Huge congratulations to cobrahenz on seizing 1st place with a total score of 63... scratch that... his score just changed while I was writing this newsletter... 63.5! And we're not even halfway yet! Do you know how blown my mind would be if 1 individual earned 100+ points for his team in the timespan of only 6 months?? Only 9 members in the #1 CM chess team (of 671720 points) average that well!! How crazy would it be to have 1 member from the #605 team (us, that is) average that well too??

I'm sorry if that looks strange to you. I'm on a very different computer as to what I'm used to so the images may appear different depending on what means you are using to view this newsletter.

"Wait, this isn't gone??"

Nope, I recently stumbled across it again and discovered what a fresh, original idea chess.com hasn't stolen from me it was. So I'm brining it back! I'm not going to have the CMT and World League run side by side so this is going to be the big thing to start after the CMT is over. I've gone through the whole "A.R.C. World League" club and polished off all the links and stuff (they were all dead!). So you are now able to find and associate with your country at his link here:

https://www.chess.com/news/view/world-league-elections-overview-2265

"Why give me so much time if this isn't going to start for 3+ months??"

The idea is everyone and every country will be right, right ready and in tip top shape by the time it starts.

"Hold on, I just remembered I'm a new member. What is World League?"

Main link and explanation here: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/world-league-2

It can be easily found because it's always a pinned forum. From now on, the World League will be, once again, running with the Scoreboard. I'm updating it later today, I promise (ran out of time last night).

More specifically, World League 2.0 starts November 1st. This is where every country (that consists of CM players) goes head to head with each other. Starting at 0, they are given 2 whole months to earn more points than the other team. Pairings will be as fair as possible. Losers are not eliminated, they will play on in a different bracket. Due to my expectation of a score of 0 from both sides in the smaller countries area, this result will yield a loss to both sides. If the score ends with 0.5-0, this still results in a full 1-0 win for whichever team received the draw.

For those still confused, here's a visual example:

nullYou may represent any country you like, as long as it matches the flag next to your chess.com username (that's the flag I'll be going by when recording).

Just a quick reminder, the World League is way outdated. I'll be getting to that later today.

Another reminder, World League 2.0 (country vs country) doesn't start until November 1st. So that's plenty of time to connect and familiarize yourself with your team here: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/world-league-2
I really hope it's a lot of fun.  And that chess.com doesn't take this idea as well.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day! Can't wait to read from you soon.
