Bendigo Chess Club to return to over the board activities: Wed Jan 27th!
I am happy to announce that the Bendigo Chess Club Inc will resume face to face meetings from 7:15pm next Wednesday, January 27th, at our old Club rooms at RMCG / Toorak House, 135 Mollison St, Bendigo (entry from the back via McLaren St, next to Reilly’s).
As a necessary health precaution we have been required to prepare COVIDSafe Plans. These guidelines will be applicable for all club meetings, so please familiarise yourself with at least the one page short version.

Please note the following conditions for the Club to be able to use the venue:
- There is a limit of 20 people in the building.
- There will be a sign in / out sheet for contact tracing.
- We will be required to wipe down all surfaces when finished, including boardroom, kitchen and bathroom areas (I will need help from other members when packing up!)
There will be no formal activities at the Club this Wednesday, just a night for casual games and a chance for members to reacquaint and for some of our new members to meet the existing ones.
However, I believe the Club should address the following items as a matter of urgency:
- ratification of the draft COVIDSafe plans.
- determine a date to hold the 2020 Annual General Meeting the sooner this can be held, the better (we were able to defer this from last year, but is a requirement for us to retain our Incorporated Association status).
Other issues, such as what do about the 2020 Club Championship, can be decided at the AGM.
