Big Island Chess Vision Statement

On the big island of Hawaii lives some great sculptors who have made huge tiki statues like at the City of Refuge.

A giant Hawaiian chess set could be made of wood or bronze by these local artists.

Giant sculptures for white and black chess pieces could be made of King Kamehameha and Queen Liliuokalani. The bishops could be Father Damien from Molokai, the knights could be the kings gaurd on horseback and the rooks could be Hawaiian heiaus. Pawns could be the kings gaurd. This would be a unique chess set for the state of Hawaii on the big island of Hawaii.
