BlogChamps Season 1 Finals Results + Season 2 Registration
Wow. Can't believe it's all over... but wait, who won?
I'll tell ya what. This was probably the closest match all season. The judges all agree both blogs posted in the finals were top blogger quality and both were worthy of winning this competition. That being said...
FINALS SCORES
#9 SheldonOfOsaka vs #2 Fire: 1-2
Congratulations to @Fire for winning Season 1 of BlogChamps! And congrats to @SheldonOfOsaka as well. Not much separated them when we were deciding who should emerge victorious - it seems clear to me these are the two best bloggers of season 1, without a doubt, and both are, in my eyes, worthy of Top Blogger status. Congrats to both of them on fantastic seasons, and congrats to @Fire for becoming our first ever BlogChampion!
Season 2 Registration
https://forms.gle/TBQp5T1fuSzzyHut9 If you would like to register for Season 2, please click on the link above and fill out the google form. We will allow late registration until the end of The Qualifiers. For info on Season 2, https://www.chess.com/announcements/view/blogchamps-season-1-format-rules read the format and rules. That post has been updated with a couple of changes.
Regarding Season 2, most people want us to add 2 judges. Sooo, welcome @anikolay to the judge staff! He will be our 4th judge for Season 2 and potentially for future seasons as well. The 5th judge is TBD as of this writing - we have offered @Fire a chance to return in Season 2 as a judge - moving forward, I like the idea of alternating the 5th judge each season, allowing the winner of BlogChamps to try their hand at judging for a season. The winner of Season 2 will be offered a chance to be a judge for Season 3. Then the winner of Season 3 will be offered a chance to be a judge for Season 4. Get the idea?
Among other changes being made for Season 2: Judges will not be allowed to make predictions. I acknowledge it's somewhat sketchy that I made a bracket and was very accurate with my predictions - I assure you I did not rig the bracket, absolutely not. I would not have made a prediction if I had realized it would have been made public. No judges will make public predictions in Season 2. Also, we have solved our little forfeit problem in the bracket, find the solution in the rules and format post. We will also have each round of the knockouts last for 2 weeks - a change we implemented midway through the Season 1 Knockouts.
Alright I think that's all. If there are any questions, just ask. Happy blogging!
