Chaturaji Player of the Month[March 2024]

Hello, members of The Chaturaji Masters' Club - Awesome Branch. I present before you a poll for deciding the Chaturaji Player of the Month for different time controls of the month of March 2024.

Introduction

• Chaturaji Player of the Month polls will be organized every month for deciding the best performing players in different time controls of Chaturaji.

• This system was started by @ElenadeAvalorCetrodelaLuz but due to their unfortunate absence and inactiveness of club Super Admins and Admins, this system had to be abandoned.

• But now I want to reintroduce this system in a more proper manner to make our club active again.

• The initiative behind this is to make the club active again and to encourage people to play Chaturaji and appreciate their efforts in playing the game.

• Basically, a maximum of 5 and minimum of 3 candidates will be selected by Admins and SAs who have had a high rating change over the past 30 days.

• These candidates will be listed with their chess.com usernames in a Google Form Poll. The link of this Poll will be shared in the announcement usually made at the end of the month.

• Members of this club can vote for the player they think should be awarded the title and they can share the link with their friends and ask them to vote too!

Important Points To Be Noted Before Voting:

• These players were selected after careful consideration and the list of the candidates is considered to be purely unbiased.

• People voting for this should take note that each of these candidates has had a significant change in their ratings and therefore voting simply based on change of rating should be avoided.

• Instead, people should look up the games of these candidates, their ratings, their Glicko RD etc. and are therefore requested to post their votes with a good amount of consideration.

• Some candidates have gained less than the others, but for their rating range, it could mean a lot. For example, climbing the Blitz leaderboard after 2400 pts of rating is hard and even a small change of rating would mean a lot.

• These players have been selected based on certain criteria which are mentioned below. Players not matching even 1 of these criteria shall not be listed as a candidate.

Criteria required for appearing as a candidate:

1. The candidate must be active in the time control for which they are selected.
2. For appearing as a blitz player of the month candidate, one must have a present rating of 2100+
3. For appearing as a hyper player of the month candidate, one must have a present rating of 1900+
4. For appearing as a rapid/bullet player of the month candidate, one must have a present rating of 1800+ in whichever time control they are selected.
5. Glicko RD of that candidate in the particular time control should be <=80

Announcement of Results and after:

• This link will be closed after 5 days of the posting of this announcement
• No more responses will be accepted after 5 days and no further requests shall be entertained.
• Results will be announced within 48 hours after the closing of the link.
• Results shall include a pie-chart indicating colors of the candidates and the %age of votes they got to prove that the results are unbiased.
