Chess 014: Endgame Technique for 1200 - 1500 ELO Players, the third installment of Chess.com University's best-selling classes, is now available in the independent study format!

This thorough course covered endgame principles, endgame tactics, all fundamental endgames, king and pawn endgames, basic minor piece endgames, and introduced major piece endgames.

Students practiced evaluating positions, finding endgame tactics, formulating plans, simplifying winning positions properly, and managed to develop basic endgame technique.

Students even witnessed all chess engines misevaluating a won endgame. Yet, basic endgame tactics and king and pawn endgame technique could win the game easily as taught during a live lecture!

The independent study version of Chess 014 consists of the same material except that the "live lectures" will be video recordings as I already taught this course. This version is just as useful and learner-friendly as the live course. Due to timezone issues, most students who took the class live were only able to attend half of the sessions live. However, this never caused any real problems.

To compensate for not being able to ask questions live, students will be able to email me questions.

Students may work at their own pace as there is no need to keep up with the class pace or finish a certain assignment by a certain due date. Students may submit the assignments for feedback whenever they want to!

There were minor modifications to the course. Namely, the students got an extra hour of live content!

Over 35 students took this course live and several Chess.com University members requested an independent study option. This is your chance to experience Chess.com University and online chess instruction at its finest!
