Chess 231: Development and Initiative Part 1
Hello friends!
I'm Kairav Joshi, one of Chess.com University's instructors and am excited to announce my 2nd seminar: Chess 231 - Development and Initiative Part 1.
When: The seminar is scheduled on Tuesday June 5th, 2012 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
Level: The seminar is aimed at those rated between 1200 and 1500 elo.
Course Description:
Not sure how to convert a lead in development into a tangible advantage? Not sure how seize and use the initiative? If so, then this seminar is for you! Chess 231 focuses on properly utilizing a lead in development advantage and initiative. This seminar is formatted to teach relevant strategy by explaining the conceptual chess along with instructive examples. Other areas of focus include tempo-moves, force, tactical awareness, and planning. With so much intermediate (and some advanced) chessics concentrated into 90 minutes, participating in this seminar is a must!
Prereqs: There are no prerequisites to take this seminar. I will send 3 relevant chess problems to all the students that register. I strongly recommend doing them as homework before the seminar but this is completely optional, not required.
Format: The total seminar duration will be 1 hour and 45 minutes and will be formatted as follows:
45 minute session
15 minute break
45 minute session
Tuition: $20/person
Registration:
Minimum # of students for the scheduled seminar to become official: 18 by June 2nd, 2012. (Maximum # of students for this seminar is 30).
