Chess.com University is Hiring Again!

Chess.com University Members,

Would you like to work for Chess.com University? If so, now is the time to let us know! We announce new openings twice a year and this time have more openings than ever before.

We actively design and offer online chess courses, chess camps, seminars, and much more. On November 29th, 2014, we are launching our biggest project till date, the Chess.com University Prodigy Program. We are also launching chess-in-school programs in India and the U.S.

We have several openings for both titled and non-titled chess players.

 

General Requirements for all Chess.com University Openings:

- At least 18 years old.

- Fluent in written and spoken English.

- Know how to play chess.

 

Let's take a look at our current openings!

 

(1) Chess.com University Teaching Assistant

The Chess.com University Teaching Assistant position is a new addition to jobs offered at Chess.com University. Teaching Assistants serve as aids to Chess.com University Instructors and will help create content in Chess.com University's Prodigy Program. Teaching Assistants will also perform tasks such as compiling questions asked by students, analyzing games of students, and answering questions asked in forums. Chess.com University Teaching Assistants will only have to work a couple of hours a week.

Additional Requirements:

- Proficient at navigating Chess.com.

- Diamond member on Chess.com

- Have an official over-the-board rating of at least 1800.

- Have experience teaching chess.

- Excellent interpersonal skills.

 

Compensation: Between $9 and $15 per hour.

(2) Chess.com University Business Associate - India

Chess.com University Business Associates in India are responsible for connecting us with schools in India. We are offering programs in which we essentially become virtual coaches for the schools. Chess is on the rise in India thanks to former World Chess Champion Vishy Anand and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We believe this is the right time to let schools in India know about us and our premier chess-teaching services. Chess.com University Business Associates in India are expected to present our services to schools via email, phone calls, and/or in-person meetings.

 

Additional Requirements:

- Understand the academic benefits of chess.

- Be able to approach schools in a professional manner.

- Excel at sales and marketing and possess basic business skills.

- Live in India.

Compensation: Pay is based on commissions.

 

(3) Chess.com University Business Associate - USA

*5 job openings*

Same tasks as above (Business Associate in India) but for the United States.

 

Additional Requirements:

- Understand the academic benefits of chess.

- Know how to approach school districts in a professional manner.

- Excel at sales and marketing and possess basic business skills.

- Live in the United States.

- Have a high school diploma or GED.

 

Compensation: Pay is based on commissions.

 

(4) Chess.com University Prodigy Program Business Associates

Chess.com University Prodigy Program Business Associates have one task: help us get more students. We want to have 1,000 students in this program by the end of next year and need talented individuals to help us out! Chess.com University Prodigy Program Business Associates are expected to contact chess clubs, coaches, schools, and any other relevant organization to try to get us more students. The associates are also expected to distribute flyers, make announcements at tournaments, and form partnerships with other chess entities to bring us the most students. For example, associates may contact chess coaches or large chess clubs to send students our way. In return for their favor, the associates can offer these clubs or individuals commission or other forms of compensation. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity with great earning potential! Individuals from around the world may apply.

Additional Requirements:

- Excellent communicator.

- Possess great business skills.

- Able to contact hundreds or thousands of individuals and organizations.

- Have a high school diploma or GED.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Active tournament chess player, preferably a master or grandmaster.

- College graduate or at least some college education.

- Chess club president, tournament director, or chess events organizer.

 

Compensation: Pay is based on commissions, which can be very high.

 

And that wraps up the jobs we are currently offering. There are 4 different positions and a total of 36 openings in Chess.com University right now! We expect Chess.com University to grow tremendously next year and plan on offering positions such as Director of Chess.com University by the end of 2015.
