Chessical Destroyers Week 1 Report
CD had a bright start this week, coming off with a 12.5-11.5 win over Crimson Blitz, a solid team captained by @Doublewontonsoup. Anyway, let's dive straight into the action!
First, on board one, @Mathisfun123 took on UTT veteran @mikechesser. There was a massive rating gap, but @Mathisfun123 managed to get 1.5 points off of @Mikechesser. Let's look at one of the games won by @Mathisfun123:
After that, the b2's played where @Chessintuition0906 got an amazing victory over @IAmKewl369, ending up with a 3-1 win for Intuition. Let's take a look at the final game, which decided the match between CD and CB:
And white wins, but with 6 seconds on his clock. IAmKewl had 30 seconds, but thought it was 3+2 and resigned here! This was a 5+0 game, and he may very well have flagged intuition but forgot the time control! A crazy match all around, with a lot of upsets and swindles. After that, we have...... um...... the b3's match....... I was playing @Doublewontonsoup, and was confident in victory.
Short story, I lost 4-0. I lost the first two, lost my head in the 3rd one, and forfeited the 4th one after I decided not to donate any more points to this guys cause. I suppose we have to take a look at one of the games, so it might as well be this one:
After that, I had practically no hope of victory for CD. I was even more worried as the b4's played.... Here's a game from @Rook_Handler's* match:
After that match, the score was 6.5-9.5, and only the bottom two boards remained. Our b5, @Ukrainiandude, didn't negotiate much, but his opponent didn't either, so the match ended in a forfeit draw. On b6, @fayez58 got a forfeit win when his opponent wasn't good at negotiating. With that, the final score was 12.5-11.5 in our favor! Next week we'll be playing a team that is also on 1-0, so it'll be a tough math, but we can do it!

*@rook_handler, formerly @Tebow2baker, has a long history with CP. He was on Chessical PROdigies when it won the Not-So Pro Fog Of War League, and was on Chessical Destroyers when it lost the Not-So Pro Chess League. He was also a b5 in the debut season of CP, NSPBCL season 4, where we got top 8.
