College Chess Competition in NC

" Last year faculty member Dean Furbish and I worked to establish a chess club for students at Wake Tech Community College in Raleigh. Our club competed with several local chess groups during the 2015-16 school year. Our most experienced player group had an estimated average USCF rating of 1300-1400; however, we also gave novice players a chance to compete. "
" One of our goals for the 2016-17 school year is to promote chess competition with other post secondary schools in North Carolina. We would be very interested in arranging a match type competition with college chess groups/clubs/teams. These matches could be with two year, four year, public, or private institutions in North Carolina. The Wake Tech Chess Club is flexible concerning the site, time, and format for any intercollegiate competition. "
