Meet Aarush Panda, March 2026 Player of the Month
Please join us in congratulating Aarush Panda, our March 2026 Player of the Month at the Columbia Chess Club! Aarush has been a student member of the club for nearly four years, and during that time his improvement has been incredible. He’s climbed from a 300 rating to over 1650, a testament to his dedication, study, and love for the game. Approaching his 300th rated event at the club, Aarush has become one of our most consistent and ferocious competitors over the board. But what truly stands out is his character—he’s always kind, inclusive, and encouraging to fellow players. Aarush takes his chess improvement seriously and has also become a role model for younger players, including his sister Shanaya, who also competes with us. Outside the chessboard, Aarush channels his competitive spirit into national-level robotics competitions through his school. We’re proud to have watched Aarush grow as both a player and a leader in our chess community. Congratulations, Aarush!
