Columbia Chess Club Runs First FIDE Event
On Sunday, March 1st, the Columbia Chess Club hosted its first-ever FIDE-rated event; a Blitz Invitational test run designed to make sure everything ran smoothly and that our team fully understood the rating process.

The event was a success from an organizational standpoint and marks a major milestone for the club as we continue growing competitive chess in our community. It also stands as a milestone for Charlestonian Russell Bryant's TournaChess software that operated the registration and pairings!

Congratulations to Thomas Kemp Jr. for taking first place and winning the event!
