Congratulations to my students for amazing performances this weekend at the Thanksgiving Tournament!!
~Samuel Lu who tied for first out of 54 people, went undefeated, defeated a higher-rated opponent. won $200, gained almost 100 rating points and reached a new rating high of 1732
~Mark Li, who went undefeated, tied for sixth place, and reached a new rating high of 1599
~Sudeep Vadderaju, who defeated an opponent rated 300+ points higher than him, tied for 13th place, and reached a new rating high of 1453
~Joshua Gu who defeated an opponent rated 400+ higher than him and reached a rating of 1400
~Henry Thomas, who made a comeback to chess playing in his first regular tournament in almost a decade, tied for sixth place and raised his rating by 600 points
