EL2012 - Lessons Learned (= input for next season)
We're now soon in the end of this season, and time to look forward:
This forum is a place for commenting and discuss what went well or bad in this tourney, and what may have to improve for next season (El2013).
Here some basic information about the next season:
- Going to start by the 1st of January 2013
- Will for Division 1 to 3 basically have the same setup as for this year
- How to setup Division 4 or lower have to be carefully reconsidered
- Other improvements of setup and rules are also to be considered

Here're some areas that during the season been addressed by various team admins and others that may have to be improved:
1. Division 4 and lower

The most teams in this division didn't gave this season the attention as had been expected. Games didn't started up or too late. Another setup has to be covered for next season. Ideas?
2. Playing for several teams
----------------------------------
It's tricky to followup this for the most admins. The only teams that easily could be tracked are Team Cyprus :-) But otherwise pretty difficult for all.
The Asia League have skipped the rules that limits players representing more teams. Suggestion have been raised to simplify the current rules. Ideas?
3. Deadlines sand penalties

Seem like most games started due to deadline. However, a few didn't. We may have to force the team send, accepting, and look their rosters faster. We may have to reduce the scores for teams that delay the progress. Ideas?
4. Disqualifications and promotions

We may have to disqualify teams that not have started up a certain share of their games so avoid unclear and unfair ending of the tourneys. For example if a team not have started up at least 50% of their game from round 4 an onward would they be disqualified and have to start from scratch next season. And teams that are able keep a place in a division, or may even get promoted to superior higher division may should be guarantee to stay in the tourney, even if there's another team from same country that are better ranked on the team match leaderboard today. Thoughs?
5. Scoring system

In other tourney's have other scoring systems been discussed.
One suggestion that have been raised is to give 5p for win, 2p for tied, 1p for unfinished, 0p for loss. Another complimentary thought is that teams that win more than (let say) >75% of the games in a match get an extra point. Ideas?
6. More tourney staffing

Currenly I (ohanpalmaer) run all this pretty on sole. Of course listening on different opinions etc, but it's a certain workload to make all this.
For next season we may could divide keep track on the divisions by get more admins involved. Maybe one admin for each division?

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Input from this forum will be handled as input to the preparations of next season - EL2013.
A proposal for tourney setup and rules for EL2013. The proposal will be reviewed by the European League Director forum in the end of November, and then published through Team Europe HQ in December.
