February 2022 Updates!
Since earlier this year there has been a new resurgence of activity in our club! With new matches ongoing with more on the way, there are several ways to keep track of what's going on! Remember to check on both your club settings and user profile settings to allow notifications for Notes, News, and Forum posts. These are the club's primary methods of communication.
January was a big membership month for us with 29 new members joining West Virginia Chess! In February 6 new members were added to our ranks: @Nitai_Nitai @spbutlerjr @Taddydaddy3 @chessmasteretal @dallasfreeman @Diffworlds Welcome!
Several Forum posts might be of interest concerning possible local chess meetups, books others found helpful, and ideas for club live events. What time controls are good for you in a live event? What are you studying that is helpful currently? These are just some of the topics and questions you can comment on to help guide new decisions for great chess fun in our club. Do you enjoy vote chess, live chess, puzzles? Let us know in the comments.
Current Matches in Progress will show our current standing with each match. As team members win or draw the games, the club gains points for that match. As you can see from the linked page, we are doing well so far with only one match where we are not on top at the moment of this writing.
The players who participate in the matches can be seen in the Daily Match Top Players Leader-board. This keeps track of all match wins/losses/draws across all matches for our club. Regardless of where you are on this list, thank you for participating! We hope you continue, not only playing, but improving, and the matches give you a great opportunity and a team to play for.
Lastly, the Revitalization 2022 Tournament had enough players to form 3 groups, and Group 1 already has the 2 players moving forward: @MBClevenger and @tigoan Congratulations!!
We have more ideas and things to setup, but you are a very vital part. Regardless of rating, expert or beginner, we appreciate your help and participation in your club, our club, the club... West Virginia Chess Forever!
