First Anniversary
Our club is now one year old, the first season is over.
We have 64 members - a very special number for chess. Five of them are titled players: FM Er_is_geen_hoop_meer, FM chuddog, FM CountOfMonteCristo, NM Petrosianic and NM chessking2151. But our highest rated member is ElFeroz05 who has a FIDE rating of 2324 points (that's an FM-level). We are small, but quite strong. No wonder that in our first season we've beaten clubs that were bigger than us: The Magnus Carlsen Group, Bobby Fischer Group, Kasparov Chess Club, Mikhail Tal Fans, Tigran Petrosian, The Capablanca Club and Murphy Chess Club. We play fair and I hope that this tradition will be kept in the new season. Only two of our players have been banned for cheating. One of them had not completed a single game for us before he was caught. The other one has completed 3 games, but two of them were against another confirmed cheater. In comparison: our opponents have fielded 10 cheaters against us!
We fight for our team and don't lose on time. Our opponents have less team spirit and lose on time quite often. We've lost only 5 games on time, they've lost 48 games (it means 10 times more often than us, and games lost on time by banned cheaters are not included).
In the new season I'm planning to start a team match every month and we are going to challenge some teams for a revanche! We may also take part in TMCL.
