Hello everyone. I will be doing a recap probably every week now.

Prior to this arena, these are the standings for the overall grand prix top 5:

1. Uri Netzer                                                 11

2. David Katsman                                          8

2. Xenofon Papamichail                                6

4. Leo Sun                                                     6

5. Ruihan Cao                                               4

5. Lewis Tu                                                    4

This week, all 6 of these players played, as well as a new player rated over 2000, me.

Early on, @VahagnG33 (idk his actual name sry) jumped into the lead with a few quick wins, including this win with a smooth checkmate on move 15 in the first pairing.

In my first pairing I played David. We were the only two players rated above 2000, and played this long positional battle of a game.

The current leader of the Grand Prix at the time, Uri, had a rough start with this loss.

After a 4 game win streak, @VahagnG33 lost and drew a game, ending the winning streak that fueled his quick start.

This was the clinching win the gave me a large lead in the arena. It was against fellow leader @VahagnG33

However in the end, the gap was closed to just 2 points.

I finished in first place, 7/7, the first time in MHSCL grand Prix history there's been an undefeated winner. Uri's outside of top 5 finish ends his streak of two times in the top 5, surprisingly he was the only one to place top 5 each of the first two times. You'd think more people would. Leo finishes 2nd for the second time, leapfrogging Uri into clear first place of the Grand Prix with 12 points now. Uri still stays in 2nd overall, thanks to his dominant performance in the first two weeks, even scoring a MHSCL Grand Prix record, 34 points in his win of the second grand prix. Now he has 11. Then there 4 people tied for 3rd with 8 points, David and I, each with 1 Grand Prix win and nothing else, Lewis the creator, with 2 second place finishes, and Xenofon, with a 2nd and 5 place finish.

1. Leo Sun / Belmont / 12 Points

2. Uri Netzer / Lexington / 11 Points

T3. David Katsman / Brookline / 8 Points

T3. Xenofon Papamichail / Brookline / 8 Points

T3. Sritan Devineni / Lexington / 8 Points

T3. Lewis Tu / Belmont / 8 Points

Going forward, we may have a game of the week. Each player can choose one of their games, however if someone chooses a game that you played with them, that doesn't count as your submission. Additionally, if there are games that you want me to review, submit them tagged with review or smth like that.

See y'all after break, in the New Year.
