Grand Prix #4 recap
First Grand Prix of the year unfortunately did not have 3 of the best players rating-wise from the previous events, David, Lewis and Me.
However, it didn't disappoint.
Current standings reminder:
1. Leo Sun / Belmont / 12 Points
2. Uri Netzer / Lexington / 11 Points
T3. David Katsman / Brookline / 8 Points
T3. Xenofon Papamichail / Brookline / 8 Points
T3. Sritan Devineni / Lexington / 8 Points
T3. Lewis Tu / Belmont / 8 Points
Uri completes one of the smoothest Vienna games from black possible to beat Duckeyyy to win the highest rated first match. Uri is ranked #2 prior to this event so he is certainly someone to watch, especially because 4 of the top 6 did not play.
Another heavyweight matchup won by Uri.
After this game, a 600 point upset, @turnuphater otherwise known as Gabriel Jacobs, turned up big time to win this event by 6 points, beating out Uri and Xenofon.
1. Uri Netzer / Lexington / 17 Points
T2. Leo Sun / Belmont / 12 Points
T2. Xenofon Papamichail / Brookline / 12 Points
T4. David Katsman / Brookline / 8 Points
T4. Sritan Devineni / Lexington / 8 Points
T4. Gabriel Jacobs / Newton South 8 Points
T4. Lewis Tu / Belmont / 8 Points
Despite losing this event, Uri catapults into a large first place lead due to his consistency. Gabriel Jacobs also jumps to first place in what I believe was his first event.
Be on the lookout for this coming week, 7 PM this Saturday, and maybe you can be featured.
