In a bid to reign in 'rogue' voters we have decided to introduce the following set of rules that will govern vote chess matches. These are available in the forum - http://www.chess.com/groups/forumview/vote-chess-rules60

We need a captain to enforce these rules. Anybody looking to volunteer can contact me or CMurgh. The captain of a VC will be announced prior to the starting of the match.

All players participating in vote chess will have to adhere to the following rules , failure to do so will lead to suspension from team matches and/or removal from the group. Persistent flouting may lead to ban. These are applicable only for games with 3 days or more . Faster game players (1 day) do not need to follow these rules:

Rules:

  • Voting must be only done on the last day of alloted time. (i.e 2nd day in a 2 day game , 3rd day in a 3 day game etc.)
  • Votes must be given to only the discussed moves , if someone wants to vote for a different move he/she is free to discuss it and vote for it only after it is approved by the captain.
  • After giving your vote , you must post a picture / copy of the vote results. For ex :

    13 Votes

    25. ..Bxa7 (54%, 7 Votes)

    25. ..Kf2 (46%, 6 Votes)

  • Failure to do so or voting a non-discussed / non-approved will lead to suspension from team matches and/or removed from the group.
  • Persistent voting for draws in an unclear / winning / losing position is not encouraged.

These set of rules will be applicable the next VC match onwards . The current crop of matches (8) do not fall under these rules.
