INAUGURAL VETERAN'S DAY OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT

The Inaugural Veteran's Day tournament (November 11th) is coming up. 

For the first time as far as I know, a chess tournament will be held in an hospital! Yep you heard it right. The tournament will be at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Building 101. So if you ever get a heart attack from speed chess, the Emergency Room is right around the corner  

The prize fund is $4000 guaranteed based on 80 entries but that fund may increase also based on donation. Tournament Format: A 5-round Swiss tournament in three sections: Open (1400+), Reserve U1400 , and Rising (unrated.). Time Control is 15 minutes with 10 seconds increment.

The tournament is open to anyone 18+. And veterans gets free entry.
