July 13th tournament

We are 6 days away from the First Annual Albany Oregon Chess Club tournament, This email is to serve as a reminder of what's to expect on the 13th. Games will begin at 1pm, please show up 15 minutes or earlier. The conference rooms open up at 12pm for organizers and players to enter, so feel free to show up early if you're interested in helping setting up for the Tournament. 

The games will be 5 rounds of 15 minute rapid games with no increment. in the event there are players that draw for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd; there will be 3+2 blitz games till a winner is decided. This will be a touch move event (touch move is when your are obligated to move the piece you touch). If you have any questions or stipulations during your game, please pause your clock and get the attention of an arbiter to resolve the concern, the arbiter will start your clock once the players are ready. Rules wills will be vocalized on the 13th prior to the games begin.

What should you bring? You may use your own chess clock (if its able to do 15min), beverages are allowed at the chess board (please don't bring food to the board, it may be distracting to the other competitors hearing someone eat during their games), you may bring a pad to write down your moves if you'd like. If you have any questions about supplies or amenities you'd like to bring, please ask!
