July Rapid Tournament 2023

We are thrilled to announce that signups are now open for the Garmin Chess Club July Tournament! We have some fantastic prizes lined up, so don't miss out on this opportunity to showcase your chess prowess.

Tournament Details:

Dates: Starts July 3rd and should take about 4 weeks

Format: Round robin play with separate groups based on skill levels

Platform: Chess.com

Time control: Single 10|5 game per week against an opponent from your group. You and your opponent will work together to coordinate when to play the game.

Scoring: 1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a tie

Please note that players will be assigned to groups based on their previous tournament results, online ratings, or by assessing their skill level. If you haven't played in our previous tournaments or don't have an online rating, we will do our best to determine an appropriate group for you.

Prizes:

At the end of the tournament, we will hold a prize drawing to determine the winners. The two pools of potential winners include one of the group winners and one of all remaining participants. Two lucky players will be randomly selected to win one month of Chess.com premium membership each.
