Hello Custom Variants community!
It's almost been 5 years since this club was born on October 12, 2020 (yay)! Within those 5 years, we have seen many enthusiastic creators and variants come and go. However, with new members continuously rolling in, submission rates have spiked significantly. That's why we turn to you guys to help the CGA Team deliver better and quicker verdicts—after all, what would Custom Variants be without the amazing players that make it what it is?
What is an NCV Tester?
NCV (New Custom Variant) Testers work closely with the CGA Team to test new variants created and submitted by the community. They help the CGA Team with their valuable thoughts and insight to ultimately make a decision about the quality of a variant. Though CGAs have the final say, in many cases NCV Testers' votes and suggestions play a big role in the verdict of a variant.

As always, we are looking to find the most qualified candidates, so don't be discouraged if you weren't selected during this round: you always have until next year to show us your improvement!
Reminders:
- We're looking for NCV Testers, not CGAs.
- NCV Testers are add-ons to the CGA team. You'll participate primarily in testing new variants, but forum moderation, tournament management, listed custom variant decisions, and other CGA abilities are left to the actual CGAs.
- There's never an expectation that NCV Testers will ever become full-fledged CGAs. However, consistent effort and improvement will make you a good candidate for promotion.
- There is a time-commitment. We're looking for players who are somewhat active and can contribute consistently—at least a couple hours a week.
- There are requirements and procedures to follow. Our team values personal responsibility, trust, and thoughtful communication.
- You'll be asked to complete tasks thoughtfully, carefully, and diligently so as not to make mistakes. Of course some mistakes here and there are fine—we're all human after all—but it should not be a regular occurrence.
- You'll be expected to share your opinion and insights when testing variants. We don't want you to agree with everything we say—there's no point! You'll need to be able to express your thoughts effectively.
- There are no requirements with regard to age, punishment history on Variants, NCV/WoF acceptance rate, rating, etc., although you'll be more likely to be selected if you have shown yourself to be mature, skilled in variant play, and creative when it comes to variant creation. We also aren't setting an exact number of how many NCV Testers we are going to select.
- This year, we modified the application to be more quantitative than in previous years: that is, your submission will be assigned a point total out of 200 so you can match your skills to a numerical value.
