It's that time again! How are we doing as a club? Are we doing anything as a club? What have you missed if your account and/or club notifications are turned off?

Welcome New Members!

@DrDiggityD , @Davidicus99 , @NostraPawnus , and @acboggs23 - Welcome!

Revitalization Tournament
We had 12 of the 49 members participating in this tournament. Since this club had been very inactive, this seemed a fair turnout and a step in the right direction in rebuilding our club. Currently we are still in the 1st Round with 2 games left before moving on to the second round. Already from Group 1:
@MBClevenger and @tigoan are moving to Round 2, along with @NatexEdge and a tie for the next seat between @mtnrunr and @dasmith80 from Group 3. In Group 2: @blanboy has a lock on the first seat, with the second currently held by @TomSatterield. The outcome depends on the remaining 1 games.

Daily Matches (What are a Daily Game and a Club Daily Match?)

Won

West Virginia Chess vs Knightz Dragon - 4-0
@TheThennek and @dallasfreeman got the points, but unfortunately @rashelward of Knightz Dragon timed out both his games. This is always sad to see happen, but as my friend says "Life gets in the way of playing chess sometimes."

Live Tournaments
We have started having Live Swiss Tournaments, the
Swiss System being just the way pairing opposing players for the games is done. Time Controls range from Rapid (Game in 10m or 30m) to Blitz (Game in 5m) to Bullet (Games in 1m). Of the various types only the Saturday Blitz (5m) has been the only tournaments with enough players in order to be played. Congratulations @MBClevwnger and @TomSatterield for winning the Apr. 2nd and Mar 26th respectively. Thank you to all who participated, and as we continue please jump in and have fun! We are having new tournaments weekly, so watch the Announcements and Upcoming Events!

Vote Chess (What is Vote Chess?)
We currently have 2 Vote Chess games ongoing:

International Vote Chess Team vs West Virginia Chess
Worship Club vs West Virginia Chess
If you would like to join in you still can! We chat a bit (on the private team chat provided) about the moves, and then we all cast our vote. The move with the most votes is the move that is made. It's just that easy, and you might learn something along the way!

Closing Thoughts

There are even more ways to play chess with or representing our club, West Virginia Chess! Most importantly having fun through chess is our primary goal, while promoting chess play in West Virginia both online and over-the-board!

What do you enjoy the most out of the above? Let us know is the comments!
