Maui Chess Vision Statement

On the island of Maui lives some great artists and sculptors. At the Grand Wailea Resort on the island of Maui is the most realistic scupture of King Kamehameha.

A giant Hawaiian chess set could be made of wood or bronze by these local artists.

Giant sculptures for white and black chess pieces could be made of King Kamehameha and Queen Liliuokalani. The bishops could be Father Damien from Molokai, the knights could be the kings gaurd on horseback and the rooks could be Hawaiian heiaus. Pawns could be the kings gaurd. This would be a unique chess set for the state of Hawaii on Maui.

I would place this chess set at the park in Lahaina town or Haleakala state park.
