New Vs Computer

Outside of live chess, nowhere in the world are more games of chess played than Vs Computer here on Chess.com. Upgrades are long overdue and today we release the first round of them to Beta users. 

We've added 3 modes to choose from so you can pick the experience for you:

Challenge Mode: 

Work your way up the ranks vs increasingly stronger engines. No hints, no help, no takebacks. Challenge mode is playing for keeps. 

Friendly Mode: 

Favor a casual game, but want to figure out the best move for yourself? Then Friendly is for you. No move suggestions are offered, but you can see the engine eval if you like, and you can take back your move and try another one. 

Assisted Mode:

Takeback, Engine, Evals, Show Threats, Hints... It's all there for you to use in Assisted Mode. 

In addition to various modes, you have the option now to play timed vs the computer.  We are not yet saving your games to the archive, but that will likely be an option in the future. We do save your progress vs the challenge computers so know which levels you've already beaten.
