OPEN LEAGUES FIXTURES MARCH - MAY : A PERFECT STORM
April and May will be pivotal months in all three of our main Open League Tournaments as we move beyond the halfway stage in the competitions. The fixture lists have not been kind to us: we simultaneously face the top club teams in each tournament.
County Championship—Somerset Wyvern must be a fixture we target for a win, as next up are two of the top three clubs in the CC. Hereford, Worcester, and Shropshire are lying top of the table, with Lanarkshire hot on their heels.
European Cities League—Kharkiv is already looking like a runaway winner and one of the best teams in ECL, and we can’t lose to our neighbours Edinburgh!
World Cities League – after winning four matches on the trot through default we meet Calabria, who are not only undefeated but have hardly dropped a game in their matches.
I'm sorry, guys, but I'm calling on you to make as many rosters as possible.
As for meeting Hereford, Worcester, and Shropshire in a week’s time in the EIRC, I feel this is probably a fixture we could do without. So, maybe give this a miss in favour of tougher ties ahead would be my counsel to manage your game load. Perhaps a chance for guys who don’t regularly get a game to flex your muscles against strong opponents.
